Perspectives
The Perspectives Series explores different viewpoints on nature from literature. Using raw canvas, linen and earthy hues, each work is a visual interpretation of quotes that touch on the idea of nature. Human nature, forests and deserts, or the whole ecosystem of earth.
“At one time in the world there were woods that no one owned”― Cormac McCarthy, Child of God
“Autumn leaves don’t fall, they fly. They take their time and wander on this their only chance to soar.”
Delia Owens, Where The Crawdads Sing
“The true joy of a moonlit night is something we no longer understand. Only the men of old, when there were no lights, could understand the true joy of a moonlit night.”
― Yasunari Kawabata, Palm-of-the-Hand Stories
“Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where Nature may heal and cheer and give strength to body and soul alike.”
John Muir
“This Forest eats itself and lives forever.”
― Barbara Kingsolver, The Poisonwood Bible
These works and more will be at The Other Art Fair Chicago at Revel Fulton Market, Sept 30 - Oct 3. Stop by booth 14 and say hello. Be well.
